皮膚由来ヒトES細胞作成、しかしガン細胞の一種。。。

皮膚由来ヒトES細胞作成についての海外ニュース。

この発見は倫理上の問題を回避できる画期的な出来事ですが、同時に癌と正常細胞とはほんの紙一重であると示しているような気もします。癌は一部の正常細胞の遺伝的変異からおきており、癌の幹細胞 (cancer stem cells)も一部のガンでは見つかっています。遺伝変異による脱分化がおきることで、ガン幹細胞になりそれが分化し癌細胞になり増殖していく。この成果は、再生研究分野だけでなく、いろいろな分野に波及していくでしょうね。
